There are questions
I will not ask
Though I know
Well, the answers.
There are waters
I will not tread
Though I know
Just how to swim.
There are songs
I cannot sing
Though the heart
Hums its desires
There are are wines
I will not sip
From the goblets
Filled to the brim.
There is an air
I cannot breathe
Though good
For my jaded self
There are places
Where I cannot linger
In the nooks of
The grassy dell
There are rainbows
I will not reach for
There are summits
I cannot climb
There are textures
I will not touch
And scents
I dare not smell.
There are streams
I will not surf through
And pebbles
I cannot pick
There are roads
I will not ride on
Though I’m sure
Of the winding way.
There are days
Robbed of rest
And nights
Devoid of dreams
But there’s a life
I will not lust for
It’s a heaven
Where I cannot stay.

Enjoyed it thoroughly…
There are some precious dreams
but I won’t see them.
lest I open my eyes
and find them gone…
The last stanza is so deep and something to be pondered upon.

No issues if you haven’t Granny. You keep us updated with your daily diaries. They bring smiles and that is more important, believe me:-)

Nadira – this is very moving and sad … the gifts and experiences life offers us are meant for us to enjoy with the proper attitude and discretion … deep down, we know the path of enlightenment and where it will lead us … God created the beauty of the world for us; I like to think of it as sneak preview of Heaven.
I always enjoy reading your work … as if seeing through the muse’s eyes … the personal tones and style. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. 🙂

This is so sad Nadira, why do you deny yourself all the time? Everything is yours and Heaven is here with you now.

Oh ..don’t you worry David. I’m fine. This is just a poem..all these emotions are universal. I just strung one together in a poem, that’s all. 🙂

Nadira this is so moving and I can really understand every syllable. People so crave and lust after a heaven everafter that they totally miss all they have been given and do not appreciate all that is arround them, to love, care for and help the needy, there should be no starvation, no war … we all destroy what we have been afforded the priviledge to look upon You are a beautiful person for sure. Keep writing. Pam

Nadira, profound but sad. As though the person is self-defeating, denying fuller manifestations of life. Do I have this wrong? Heaven is the only thing that can wait! Love, Amy

This is not about me Amy , though I guess I can relate to it. Sometimes, I take off from something I’ve heard or read somewhere .
