I’m in love with myself

23 Jul

I hug myself tight tonight

In a warm embrace

Light on my shoulder, I place my hand

And waltz with measured grace.

I place my lips on my half closed eyes

And I hum softly in my ears

I smile as a smile lights up

Through the softly falling tears.

I’m in love with myself tonight

And I’m not probing why

Sometimes there are just no reasons

This bliss to myself deny.

I’ve all the love I need tonight

It surrounds the Summer air

And the raindrops freely fall

On my soul, laid bare.

This is lovely … and so very “healthy.” I wish that more could do this!

This is lovely. We all must learn to e kind to ourselves. “And the raindrops freely fall

On my soul, laid bare.” – fabulous ending.

If everyone could have this experience and keep it for a little time, imagine how it would affect the world, Nadira. Thank you – so glad you wrote this.

Jolly, very often now, I’m coming across instances of synchronicity..like when I posted that pic titled “Trapped” where I’d placed a candle behind a wooden acupressure treadle to make it look like a cage and had come upon a photo immediately afterwards on FB, which was titled just the same. It was of a little bird trapped inside , sitting near a glass window. Different thoughts seem to be roaming around in that collective consciousness and seeping into one or he other individual. I find that very reassuring for some reason. Thanks for the share:-)

This is Beautiful Nadira, We should all give ourselves a hug and learn how to love ourselves.. We often neglect ourselves and treat ourselves harshly.
You poem is so sensitive and its like being covered in healing balm..
    Thank you so much.. ~Sue

This is such a moving and stirring piece of art.
My eyes have been opened to what has been missing in my life: an appreciation and affection for me FROM me.
It is in this area (I now realize) that I “talk the talk” but do not “walk the walk”.
I am going to re-blog on my site and also print the poem for my wall as a daily reminder.
Thank you for your transformational words.
    K

I am deeply moved by your response Kevin. I guess i learnt that lesson the hard way.For long, I pitched my happiness to the affirmation I received from others and that left me always in a state of constant yearning. I’m not saying I have total composure now…but nights like these are no more infrequent. Thanks again for the appreciation:-)
