Sometimes the soul stiffens
Into long silent screams
And each slice of self is crushed
And each belief wrung out.
Hope cringes back in terror
And recognises itself
In all it’s vulnerability
Too small and weak to shout.

It’s very hard to make sense, let alone find an answer to the question, ‘why do children suffer?’

Yes. Sometimes I am tempted to believe in the Hindu belief of Karma and rebirth. That explains a lot.

Seeing those pictures is really disturbing and these are just a few snapshots. One cannot even begin to imagine the scale of suffering caused by such violence and war. How can the universe ever be at peace when children continue to weep in pain and terror?

I do not know dear Nadira… my heart aches for them.. So many injured, suffering pain, and Loss still caught up within the war zone.. While others have escaped the actual war, yet still they fight another of prejudices … Sleeping rough in cold, winter open air now.. I can not understand our Human Race… We are so so cruel to our own species…
