The trail not taken

05 Aug

I’m glad about some choices

And the trails  not taken

Inviting though they’d been.

In my head loud  voices

Said I was mistaken

To ignore the oasis green.

But I’m glad I’d kept on gauging

My own timid intuitions

To guide me through the land

Where the contours kept on changing

And the mirage created illusions

On the shifting sands.

I’d like to submit this as an entry to the following link:

We all should do well if we but followed our intuition Nadira, But often our head gets in the way..
I think if we listen really well to those ‘Inner Voices’ our directions would be clearly guided.. instead we often do not follow our inbuilt compass… and get lost along the way..

    Lovely post.. ~Sue

Lovely post, Nadira. I always follow my intuition when travelling and it’s never let me down. xxx

I’m always interested in those who (timidly) follow their own path, until we realise that timid is just politeness and not wishing to tell others they are wrong

True…if lost..it’s better to stop and look at the map again and ask for directions and turn back if required rather than keep on going ahead, even when you know you’re on the wrong route .

Oh..I love travelling Canoe and communications….it’s just that one’s instinct sometimes warns us that some trails may lead into the wilderness or in the dunes and you’re likely to get lost.:-)

The paths of life we dont take often appear rosy, comfortable and easy in retrospect. But I am sure , thinking about those paths in the way you have thought can solve a number of issues in life!

    loved the poem!

I tend to think now that the turns we take , happens for the best. There’s something we learn at every crossroad , provided I guess, we are open to the idea.
